The biggest problem we see with brands that went through a designer before us — the logo was made as a standalone object. Pretty in presentation, on white background, in perfect conditions. Then it has to live in the real world.
First failure: You try to put it on a 32×32 pixel social avatar. Details disappear. It becomes a smudge. For a month you struggle to make anyone recognize the brand from their Instagram feed.
Second failure: Needs to be printed monochrome on a thermal printer for receipts. Gradient doesn't work. Thin lines vanish. Stamp looks like a printing error.
Third failure: Two weeks after launch the brand works with a new external designer. No brand book. Colors are "somewhere between yellow and orange." Next leaflet looks like a different company's.
Our approach: a logo isn't built as an image. It's built as a system. With all variations, application rules, and a document that protects how the brand looks when we're no longer in the picture.
Six things we do.
Logo design (from scratch)
New brand with no existing visual history. Start from positioning and strategy, choose direction, arrive at a logo with reason for looking the way it does. 3-5 concepts in the first round.
Rebrand of existing brand
Brand that's outgrown current look. Analysis of what to preserve (recognition), what to evolve. Transition strategy from old to new over 3-6 months, without losing customers.
Brand refresh
Logo outdated but brand and positioning OK. Modernization without radical change — new font, cleaner version, digital optimization. 50-70% cheaper than full rebrand.
Brand book and guidelines
Document that protects consistency when multiple designers work with the brand. Logo variations, colors, typography, application rules, visual tone, applications preview. 25-50 page PDF + working files.
Packaging and physical applications
Product packaging, labels, business cards, signage, vehicles, uniforms. Brand translated to the 3D world with all printing and production constraints factored in from the start.
Brand naming and positioning
Need a name for a new brand or sub-brand? Naming workshop, strategic analysis, domain and trademark availability. As a standalone project or part of a larger rebrand package.
From brief to brand book.
Discovery & strategy
Brand conversation — what it is, what it wants to be, where it's positioned, who the audience is. Competitor and visual landscape analysis. Brand attribute definition. Duration: 1-2 weeks.
Concepting
3-5 different directions for the logo. Each with strategic reasoning for why it looks that way. Presented in real application (on packaging, social avatar, web, physical media) — not white background. Duration: 2 weeks.
Selection and finalization
You choose direction, we finalize it. 2-3 variations of chosen direction. Detail optimization (every pixel matters), preparation of all variants (horizontal, vertical, monochrome, mini icon). Duration: 1-2 weeks.
Brand system
Color palette with accessibility validation, typography system, iconography, photographic direction, applications. Brand book with all application rules. Duration: 2-4 weeks.
Handover and transition
All files in all formats (AI, EPS, SVG, PNG, JPG). Brand book PDF + Figma. Written copyright statement. Team training (1-2h). Migration plan if old brand exists. Duration: 1 week.
